Perplexity wants to acquire TikTok Some folks accused Perplexity of attempting a publicity stunt when the news first emerged a few weeks ago, but it seems like the AI-powered search startup is actually serious about acquiring TikTok. The skepticism is understandable. TikTok reportedly did north of $20B in revenue last year while Perplexity is currently reportedly trying to raise $1B in funding at an $18B valuation. But that doesn’t seem to be stopping Perplexity from launching an audacious attempt to acquire the social media giant.
