• On Tuesday, OpenAI released new tools designed to help developers and enterprises build AI agents — automated systems that can independently accomplish tasks — using the company’s own AI models and frameworks.

The tools are part of OpenAI’s new Responses API, which lets businesses develop custom AI agents that can perform web searches, scan through company files, and navigate websites, much like OpenAI’s Operator product. The Responses API effectively replaces OpenAI’s Assistants API, which the company plans to sunset in the first half of 2026.

  • Today, we’re launching NextGenAI, a first-of-its-kind consortium with 15 leading research institutions dedicated to using AI to accelerate research breakthroughs and transform education.

AI has the power to drive progress in research and education—but only when people have the right tools to harness it. That’s why OpenAI is committing $50M in research grants, compute funding, and API access to support students, educators, and researchers advancing the frontiers of knowledge.

Uniting institutions across the U.S. and abroad, NextGenAI aims to catalyze progress at a rate faster than any one institution would alone. This initiative is built not only to fuel the next generation of discoveries, but also to prepare the next generation to shape AI’s future.

  • Official Statement: Today we’re excited to announce `gpt-4.5-preview`, our largest model yet, as a research preview. It has deeper world knowledge, with a better understanding of user intent. GPT-4.5 is designed for more natural conversation. It excels at tasks requiring creativity, empathy, and broad general knowledge, including writing help, coaching, brainstorming, and nuanced communication. We’ve also seen it perform well at agentic planning and execution.
Get started with GPT-4.5 in the API
GPT-4.5 supports function calling, Structured Outputs, vision, streaming, system messages, evals, and prompt caching. It’s available via our Chat Completions, Assistants, and Batch APIs today.

GPT-4.5 is very large and compute-intensive, so it’s not a replacement for GPT-4o. A typical query costs on average $68 / 1M tokens, with cache discounts ($75 / 1M input tokens, $37.5 /1M cached input, $150 / 1M output). Batch jobs are discounted 50% and cached input is discounted 50%.

We’re evaluating whether to continue serving it in the API long-term as we balance supporting current capabilities with building future models. If GPT-4.5 plays a unique role for your use-case, let us know.

bolt.diy allows you to choose the LLM that you use for each prompt! Currently, you can use OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, OpenRouter, Gemini, LMStudio, Mistral, xAI, HuggingFace, DeepSeek, or Groq models - and it is easily extended to use any other model supported by the Vercel AI SDK! See the instructions below for running this locally and extending it to include more models.

  • Texsted out Proxy AI and here is my frank observation:
    - Idea is amazing and various influencers compared it to the OpenAI operator
    - It shows the steps it takes and it seems reasonable to make scheduled processes (Automations)
    - offers Scheduled Automations which are amazing
    - It sticks to the 5 sessions a day strictly regardless if the AI gets stuck or prematurely exits/finishes task whether it was done correct or not
    - AI agent can get stuck browsing a single page for all steps unti it exhausts max number of steps allowed per session (you may have to mentione in prompt AI should not visit/research same page more than once)
    - there are roughly 38- 40 steps per session and if your agent is not able to complete tasks withing those allocated session stops and you have to start entirely new session (for trial accounts only of course)

Overall this does seem worth the $20 tag particularly for the automations and templates available.

  • From Deepseek to Qwen to Trea ... and now KIMI ! The future like squinch eyed !!!

    https://www.yeschat.ai/gpts-9t56Me5y9TO-Kimi
    https://www.aibase.com/tool/14025

Kimi k1.5 is the latest model released by Beijing-based AI startup Moonshot AI. The newly released Kimi reportedly matches or even outperforms the OpenAI-01 model. The O1 model has been designed to spend more time thinking before it responds, and it is capable of solving more complex problems. Reportedly, Kimi has outperformed o1 in areas like mathematics, coding, and the ability to understand text and visual inputs like photos and videos, which makes it multimodal, unlike DeepSeek-r1. Just like DeepSeek’s AI models, Kimi is built at a fraction of the cost required to build frontier AI models in the US. Kimi k1.5 has been released through Kimi.ai, and it has been hailed as the first true competitor to o1.

OPENAI ROADMAP UPDATE FOR GPT-4.5 and GPT-5:

We want to do a better job of sharing our intended roadmap, and a much better job simplifying our product offerings.

We want AI to “just work” for you; we realize how complicated our model and product offerings have gotten.

We hate the model picker as much as you do and want to return to magic unified intelligence.

We will next ship GPT-4.5, the model we called Orion internally, as our last non-chain-of-thought model.

After that, a top goal for us is to unify o-series models and GPT-series models by creating systems that can use all our tools, know when to think for a long time or not, and generally be useful for a very wide range of tasks.

In both ChatGPT and our API, we will release GPT-5 as a system that integrates a lot of our technology, including o3. We will no longer ship o3 as a standalone model.

The free tier of ChatGPT will get unlimited chat access to GPT-5 at the standard intelligence setting (!!), subject to abuse thresholds.

Plus subscribers will be able to run GPT-5 at a higher level of intelligence, and Pro subscribers will be able to run GPT-5 at an even higher level of intelligence. These models will incorporate voice, canvas, search, deep research, and more.
